Lost Worlds, a tale of a Hero who leaves his love in a quest to bring the world back from darkness and greed that has engulfed it, and ultimately returns to his love and sees her for the first time in the world light.

Chapter 1- Sail me to Freedom

It is time to say goodbye
The heart of the Hero swells to near bursting
To leave her now is to invite impenetrable darkness
Yet the thirst for adventure beckons
But it is the fate of many that tears them apart

The open ocean
The sky above
Goodbye my love

The sails take wind
A vast ocean sprawls into the unknown
To live is to be here
To test the fabric of existence
The Journey begins
The crash of waves sends salt to the Heroes lips
The world passes beneath the ship
A time of wonders
For freedom we sail
Yet the mind wanders
 

Chapter 2 - The New World

It is the evenings under the star that memories drift like dreams
There is a great distance now and the Hero stares into the horizon
How many days will they be apart?
How many nights?
If there is one thing in this world worth saving
It is the dream of a future
where they may finally
meet again

A fog settles low on the water
Drifting on a gentle breeze
It has been months at sea
When the lost world becomes a silhouette over the horizon
Silence

The Hero feels his heart begin to race
The land seems to call out
Spirits of the lost can be felt stirring in the mist
The trees are watching
What has happened to this place
What haunts it
 
Chapter 3 - Ruins of the Past

In the distance they spot a great city
The peaks of ancient temples poke through the trees
Reaching upwards for times long forgotten
Like fingers in the hills
They reach for the sky

The ruins of the past lay scattered about the land
The once great city has become rubble and lost memories
But the Hero knows what must be done
To bring the back the world of the living
The distant memory of a lost time
And his mind begins to wander
 
Chapter 4 - Lost Souls

To my dearest,
If only I could show you this world
The wonder of it nearly brings tears to me
I wish I could share the beauty of it with you
The sound of silence in the woods is like music buried in our souls
And I miss you

We travelled for weeks from high cliffs to mountain lakes
The wind at our back propelled us onward
And knowing that if we fail
All is lost

Does he
 
Chapter 5 - The Builders

Building
They are building
Like ants with a common cause
Like slaves

Their god sits upon a golden throne
High atop a temple deep under the western sky
The land is ravished by famine and drought
Yet they fight
To defend their borders from the evil of the Red Sea
They Build
and the Hero remembers

It is time

They are coming

From the depths of the red waters
They will cover the land in darkness
Forsaking all to hatred
And making love a memory of the past

 
Chapter 6 - Rising Sun
…
Out of the sea like a great flood
They come with the rising sun
Their bodies are warped and twisted
Like the tormented souls of those who reside within

To share their suffering
To spread it across the world
To see an end to human joy
Is to see an end to their forever

But love is strong in the hearts of men
Lending strength to all that they accomplish
The hero makes a stand
Backed by thousands of hearts that refuse to be cast into darkness

Into the tempest they plunge
Without fear of becoming engulfed
By the hopelessness
And the greed
That devoured the world
